These terms of service apply when you use video-transcript.com ("Video Transcript", "we", "us"), operated by video-transcript. By creating an account or using the site you agree to them. If you have a question about these terms of service, email support@video-transcript.com.

Terms of service in brief

• You keep the rights to everything you upload and every transcript you make.
• Only submit media you own or are allowed to transcribe, and respect the terms of the platforms your links come from.
• You see the minutes before a job runs, and a failed job is never charged.
• The free trial is once per person, for new accounts with a personal email address.
• Automatic transcripts can contain mistakes, so check them before you rely on them.

The service

Video Transcript turns audio, video files and supported video links into transcripts with timestamps that you can edit and export. It also offers free subtitle tools that run in your browser. Transcripts are produced by automated speech recognition and by captions published with a video.

Your account

• Give accurate details and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
• The free trial is for new accounts, once per person. We may decline the trial for disposable or business email addresses, or when we see signs of duplicate accounts.
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

Your content

You keep all rights to the files, links and transcripts in your account. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service to you.

You may only submit media that you own or are allowed to transcribe, and you must respect the terms of the platforms your links come from and the rights of others, including copyright. Do not submit content that is illegal.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service. In particular, do not:

• try to get around usage limits, the free trial rules or payment;
• use automated means to submit jobs, except through features we provide for that purpose;
• interfere with the site, probe it for vulnerabilities or access other people’s data;
• resell the service or its output as a transcription service without our written permission.

Minutes and payment

• A job uses the length of its file or video in minutes, rounded up for each file. You see the number before you confirm.
• Minutes are reserved when you confirm and charged when the transcript is delivered. If a job fails, the reserved minutes are returned.
• Free trial minutes can be used once and have no cash value.
• Paid plans are not yet available. When they open, they will be billed in advance through Stripe or PayPal and renew automatically until you cancel. Taxes may apply. Subscribers who join at a launch price keep it while their subscription stays active.
• If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will look into it.

Accuracy

Automatic transcripts can contain mistakes, especially with noisy audio, overlapping speakers, accents or specialist terms. Check transcripts before you rely on them, and do not use them as the only record where accuracy is critical, such as in medical or legal matters.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available, but it may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance or because a provider we rely on is unavailable. We may change, add or remove features. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance.

Ending your use

You can stop using Video Transcript and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, with notice where reasonable.

Disclaimer and liability

The service and the free tools are provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties not stated in these terms, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms of service

When we change these terms of service we update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will tell signed-in users by email or on the site before it applies.
